Hyperborean was formed in the year 2000. The band released three well received demos during the following years. In 2006 the band went on a hiatus that lasted for a couple of years before they resurfaced in 2009 with the recording of their first full length album, The Spirit of Warfare. That album was released on Abyss records in 2011. Now Hyperborean are back with their second full length album, Mythos of the Great Pestilence, which was recorded in 2013 in Endarker studio with Magnus Devo Andersson (Marduk) doing the mix and Fredrik Widigs (Marduk) performing the drum duties.
