About Us

Blessed Be Man is a one-man band from the deserts of El Paso, Texas. Taking the lead on guitar, drums, screw drivers and violin bows is John Lopez, who acts as an original songwriter/composer. Blessed Be Man brings a fresh sound consisting of loops, delay, distortion and organized noise. Taking influences from artists such as Godspeed You Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, The Edge from U2 MZ. 412, classical music, rock and roll, death/black metal, and as well as the experiences one goes through in life, Blessed Be Man takes you on a musical journey that brings sounds and music reminiscent of a score for a film, or a soundtrack for his life. When he performs live, he asks the audience to listen with an open mind, and an open heart. This unique one-man band was formed in the summer of 2005. A year later, the self-titled debut was released in October. In 2008, the second full length, While You Starved, I Fed You Life (Love) was released, as well as an EP, a sampler EP, and a ‘Live’ album of rerecorded songs from the debut record. Blessed Be Man has just finished recording the third full length, titled Scenes from a Forgotten Dream: Forgotten Dreams I-XIV, which will be released in the very near future.
