Q1 For the record, who's answering the interview, what is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
Jesse B, guitarist and vocalist. I was watching a kickass show called Berserk, and one of the plot devices is called a Behelit. When its covered in blood it transports you and your friends to an alternate dimension where you can sacrifice everything precious to you to devils to fulfill your dreams at the cost of your humanity
Q2 So who's in the band and what's everyone's life story in 100 words more or less?
Jesse B, guitars and vocals. Jaron Hernandez, Bass and vocals. Nathan Hardy, drums. I started the project in 2008 with a friend and we wrote a bunch of music and had some of it recorded. After a while we went on hiatus until late 2011 when I was able to rebuild the band with a new line up and now we are playing shows and writing new music
Q3 In a nutshell, please describe your sound.
Fast and brutal death metal with tech influences
Q4 Why did you each of you start playing music and was there a turning point from becoming the dream child that every mother and father hopes their child will become before discovering music? Why did music become a career choice for you?
Mostly because its a way to build yourself as a person and discover your self identity. As far as a career choice, its all about passion (we still have our day jobs though hahaha)
Q5 What instruments do you each play? How did you learn to play, self-taught or school?
I play an 8 string Schecter Hellraiser Special, Jaron plays a 6 string Ibanez Bass, and Nathan uses Pearl Drums. Jaron and Nathan were self taught, I went to lessons for about three years
Q6 What bands have influenced each of you?
Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Hour of Penance, Origin, Beheaded, Hate Eternal, Devourment,
Q7 What makes your band unique?
Not sure if we are really unique, just playing brutal music for ourselves
Q8 Do you write your own music? If not, who writes the music?
I write most of the music
Q9 What inspires the songs you write?
Life, television, books, religion, philosophy, people, places, etc
Q10 How long does it take you to write a song that’s ready to record?
Generally about two weeks as far as guitar goes, add a month for bass and drums
Q11 How would you describe your local music scene? Likes, Dislikes. What would you change?
Not metal friendly, but we are working to change it
Q12 What is your favorite local venue? Why?
The Gig, best sound and proffessional
Q13 Whats the biggest problem you find when working with other bands, booking agents, promoters and venues when settting up a show or a tour?
Big venues prefer strong draws that metal may or may not provide. Some of the other bands have a knack for canceling. The promoters we know are badasses no problems there
Q14 How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?
When you go to our performances, you are getting a performance. We are not a band that just plays songs, we are providing a service to people who pay money to be entertained. Definately a whore!
